MICHAEL FRASCA

All of my work is thrown and then altered.  The stoneware clay body is one that i have designed more than fourteen years ago in order to realize my ideas about form and its relation to wood ash glazes and other glazes.  An ongoing manipulation of the materials in both the clay body and the glaze is critical to my pursuit of a territory that falls somewhere between tight, classical form and a looser, more dynamic attitude.  I am most satisfied when both forces are present and recognizable.
